From Storm to Spring: A Living Picture of Resurrection

In recent weeks we have received many Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and seen storms leave their mark on our communities. Trees downed, branches scattered, fields soaked and saturated, and in some places, damage to homes and vehicles reminded us how fragile life can feel.
And yet, almost quietly, something else has been happening.

These same rains that brought disruption have also been awakening the earth.
Trees that looked bare not long ago are now leafing out and stretching toward the light and into warmth. Seeds hidden in the soil are beginning to stir and push upward. The lawns have greened and it is mowing season again. Flowers are blooming. What was once dormant and even appeared lifeless is now coming alive.
This is a picture of resurrection.
We often think of resurrection as something that happens “someday,” a promise tied only to the end of life. And indeed our faith holds to that hope. But resurrection is not only a future event, it is also a present reality. It is woven into creation itself.
God has given us these seasonal reminders that death and life are not opposites in His hands, but a greater story of renewal.
The storms come. The winds blow. Things fall apart. But God is not finished.
God uses the difficult seasons of our lives to prepare something new to rise within us. What feels like loss may be making room for growth. What looks like an ending may actually be the beginning of something deeper, stronger, and more alive than before.
This is the hope of resurrection. Not only that we will be raised someday but that God is already at work bringing life out of death all around us and within us.
Let this Easter season remind you… we ARE resurrection people now and in the time to come.
The story is not over.
